Haiti is one of the
poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere; however, the ministry
opportunities are abundant. Go with Cross Church as we partner with a ministry
center called Joy House to minister to the people of Haiti. According to Hope for
Haiti, over 50% of Haiti’s population is of school age and the literacy rate is
less than 50%. Approximately 70% of the people live in poverty, with an average
annual income of $400 per year. 15% of all children in Haiti are orphaned or
abandoned. Joy House has literally impacted thousands of lives and serves two
orphanages and four different area churches.
This mission journey is going to be geared towards using medicine as a way to share the gospel. If you have medical training, we need you! We will travel to areas and hold medical clinics to treat the various illnesses that are very common. There will be chances for hut to hut medical ministry and healthcare opportunities among the many orphans in the communities. However, the most exciting part is that everyone who is treated also receives spiritual counseling. If you do not have any medical training, we still need you. We need people who are able to talk and share the gospel with these individuals who are being treated. The possibilities are endless; come spend a week in Haiti!
